PACKING TIPS

FROM THE START

1. Determine the size of the boxes and other packing materials you require.
2. Choose to purchase them at Store Asia Office or acquire them on your own.

Remember to label the boxes and keep a record of inventory within each box.

HOUSEHOLD ITEMS

FURNITURE

  • Place pallet, corrugated board or mat on floor for sofas and mattresses.

  • Disassemble if possible and wrap them in newspaper or bubble wrap to protect them.

  • Place tabletops side down.

  • Place lightweight chairs stacked ‘seat-to-seat’.

  • Cover furniture with dust cover.


APPLIANCES

  • Refrigerator and washing machine should be dry and leave doors slightly ajar.

  • Cooking equipment should be cleaned thoroughly.

  • Protect appliances by wrapping it with newspaper or bubble wrap.


DISHES/ GLASSWARE

  • Wrap all glassware or fragile items with newspaper or bubble wrap.

  • Leave no loose space in between or around box. Stuff the loose space with newspaper.

  • Do not place any items on these boxes.

COMMERCIAL ITEMS

DOCUMENTS

  • Pack files, records and documents flat down to protect the spines of the folders.

  • Fill empty spaces in box with packing materials such as newspaper.

  • Do not over load; separate books from files and documents.

  • Do not place boxes directly on floor. Instead, place them on pallets to minimize moisture absorption.


METALLIC ITEMS

  • Clean all metal equipment followed by lubricating/ greasing to prevent rusting.

  • Protect appliances with stretch film or bubble wrap.


ELECTRONICS

  • Ensure all equipment are clean and dry.

  • Equipment with doors should be kept slightly ajar.
